I’m very much inspired by the work of Ansel Adams, one of the leaders of American landscape photography. Born in San Francisco, he is known in the history of photography for his photographs that present views of some of the awe-inspiring national parks in the West of the United States. My work also takes as a starting point the urban landscape of Seoul, where I live. One day I realized that being aware of the world starts with be self-conscious. I tried to show being self-conscious through photography, which is a medium that shows substance. From this concept, I took pictures of everyday subjects in Seoul that made me feel alive while looking at them. Perhaps that by showing our daily lives anew may allow me to feel alive.
